GRANDMASTER KRAIGUAR SMITH received the title Grandmaster at a ceremony in 1995 held at the Outlaw Boxing Club in Hollywood, Ca. co-owned by actor Mickey Rourke, hosted by Hall of Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach. He is one of the senior students of first generation American Kenpo pioneer Sijo Steve Muhammad and has studied the Martial Arts and Science with the father of American Kenpo Great Grandmaster Edmund K. Parker Sr., Grandmaster Jerry Smith (Okinawan Shorin-ryu, Five Level Method), Guru Cliff Stewart (Hapkido, Jeet Kune Do, Silat, Within Arms Reach), Grandmaster Dan Inosanto (Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do), Grandmaster Bob Owens (Shotokan), Professor Ron Chapel (SL4 Kenpo), Grandmaster Steve Herring (Kenpo, Two Dragons Chaun Shu), Bishop Donnie Williams (Taekwondo), Grandmaster Frank Wilson (Chuan Fa), Senior Master Ted Taylor (Kenpo), Master Toddy (Muay Thai) and Bapak Waleed Silat Tuo, Seni Silat Haqq). His many teachers are the True Legends, Pioneers and Hall of Famers.
Grandmaster Kraiguar is a 10th Degree Black Belt, 13 time International Champion, 21 time Grand Champion, 5 time USA World Champion, Historian and Biographer. He fought and defeated some of the greatest Martial Arts fighters of the time, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Howard Jackson, John Natividad, Cecil Peoples, Steve Fisher, "Monster Man" Everett Eddie, Dana Goodson and Dan Anderson to name a few.
As a Professional Kickboxer in 1976 he had his first fight at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, Ca., fought for United States vs Japan in Osaka in 1979 and was the first African American to fight a Main Event in Brisbane, Australia in 1980, retiring with a 14-5 record.
In 1972 he participated in the motion picture ""Enter The Dragon"" starring Bruce Lee as one of the students training in the scene filmed at the world famous 103rd Street Dojo in South Central Los Angeles, co-star and stunt director of the ""Gang Story"" 1973, feature performer on ABC television series ""I Am Somebody"" 1973, created "The Mixing Music to Martial Arts Concept" for Martial Arts fighters in 1976 which influenced thousands including Billy Blanks, in 2000 he was special assistant to actor Darius McCrary while in Vancouver, Canada filming the television series "Freedom" for UPN produced by Joel Silver, co-star of the film ""Modern Warriors"" Directed by Peter Spirer for Lions Gate Films 2002.
A Security Specialist, Executive Protection Consultant, teacher and trainer, he has worked with Professor Angela Davis, Aaron Eckhart, Melora Walters, Darius McCrary, Marla Gibbs, Sergio Mendes, Louis Johnson, Kevin Spencer, Bill Overton, Jimmy Cliff, Gloria Hendry, Miki Howard, Nastassia Kinski, Vincent Spano, Salma Hayek, Lorenzo Lamas, Mark Hudis, Josh Holloway Gavin Maloof, Joe Maloof, Ben Roethlisberger as well as Dustin Nguyen, Taimak, Louis Mandilor, Sasha Mitchell, Bas Rutten, Marco Ruas, Danny Steele, Marvelous Hagler, Roberto Duran and more.
Grandmaster Kraiguar is a former member of the International Kenpo Karate Association, founding member of the Black Karate Federation, he is the founder of the Original Warrior Association, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Team Karate Championship, Honors for Youth, Challenge of the Martial Arts Masters, Three Kings Community Advancement Institute and created The Law of the Flowing Grabbing Hand (Kune Lop Sao).
Grandmaster Kraiguar has won and received hundreds of awards, most memorable are induction into the 2004 Masters Hall of Fame, receiving the Grandmaster Award, in 2005 received the Diamond Fist Award and was the first recipient of the Spiritual Warrior Award presented by Bapak Waleed and the International Silat Federation of America in 2006. He has been honored with Commendations, Proclamations, Certificates from the City and State of Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.
